Findlay church of Christ
Romans 16:16- Salute one another with a holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you.

OUR ELDERS AND DEACONS

ELDERS:
Just like the churches of the New Testament, each church of Christ is autonomous and watched over by Pastors, Bishops, Shepherds or Elders. In the Bible, these four words refer to the same group of men.  Elders are compared to shepherds who lead the flock. Our elders are committed to both the physical and spiritual growth of this congregation while remaining true to the Bible example of how a church should conduct itself.

Billy Earl Daniels: Billy has been an elder with the Findlay congregation for 15 years. He and his wife, Brenda, have been with the Findlay church for 25 years.  They have been married for 44 years and have 2 children and 2 grandchildren. Billy is originally from the Sparta area, and he owns Daniels' Body Shop.

David McFerrin: David was installed as an elder this year (2010) but has served at deacon for several years. He and his wife, Janice, have been married for 22 years.  They have 2 children.  David is one of Findlay's regular song leaders.

David Whiteaker: David and his wife, Joyce, have been with the Findlay congregation for more than 20 years with David serving as an elder for 18. He and Joyce have been married for 39 years and have 2 children and 2 grandchildren. He is originally from the Sparta area and is retired from the local public school system.

James Wilmoth: James is originally from the Cookeville area. He and his wife, Vickie, have been married for 31 years and have been with the Findlay congregation for 18 years. They have 3 children and 3 grandchildren. James has been an elder for 6 years and works for Bill Boruff Dodge.

DEACONS:
As with the elders in the churches of the New Testament, each church of Christ is also to have special servants or deacons appointed. We find the first mention of these special servants in Acts 6:1-3 where men were appointed to assist in the benevolence work for widows of the congregation.  In I Timothy 3:8-12, we find the qualifications of deacons.
